What do we mean by "Kosher"Net?
"Kosher" means "fit, ready,
suitable."
The
term is usually used with regards to food -
Kosher food is "fit" to be eaten.
Non-kosher food is not "suitable" to be eaten.
"Kosher" can also be used to describe
other realms of human/Jewish experience. Reading material, entertainment, and
parties can all be kosher or non-kosher, appropriate or inappropriate as a
Jewish experience.
Thus, the internet experience too can
be Kosher or non-Kosher. But, just as with food there are
different standards for what is considered kosher or non-kosher, so too with the
internet.
Our name KosherNet is not meant to describe the Internet as
being Kosher, nor that we will
necessarily decide for you what is Kosher or not kosher on the "net".
We provide you with the tools to custom design your own
level of kosher internet. You decide what you consider to be
kosher, and we tailor our filtering system to match your standards of
"kosher internet" as closely as
possible.
Whether you are most comfortable with
a whitelist option, or need the
blacklist option, we can probably provide you
with your ideal kosher internet experience.
